Florida men plead guilty in federal court in St. Louis to identity theft charges

ST. LOUIS — Two Florida men face sentencing in February after pleading guilty to federal identity theft charges.

Montrail Austin and Terrell Langston, both 25 and from Miami, entered the guilty pleas Monday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis. Langston also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal government funds.

The men stole personal information from more than 400 people in 2011 and 2012 and filed fraudulent tax returns in the names of the victims, seeking more than $2.25 million in refunds. Of the money sought, nearly $500,000 was paid out.
