Ex-Woodbury Financial execs enter mediation with former employer

Minneapolis / St. Paul -The legal fight over the departure of three top managers from Woodbury Financial Services over allegations that they took confidential documents could wrap up quietly.

The Star Tribune reports that the lawsuit filed by Woodbury Financial’s parent, the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., against former Woodbury Financial regional vice presidents Scott Carlson, Kevin Corrigan and Robert Cairns was placed in a confidential mediation process on Friday by a judge. The three men left the Oakdale-based firm during the summer for jobs at a subsidiary of Golden Valley-based Allianz Life.

The Star Tribune said that the move to mediation came after attorneys for the three men said that they had taken only data that was available elsewhere and destroyed or returned other information. The Hartford called its allegations “only the tip of the iceberg.”
